Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, and using the Componi mobile application ("App"), you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), including all policies incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms are a binding legal agreement between you and Acena Education - FZCO ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a legal entity registered in the United Arab Emirates (Registration Number: DSO-FZCO-51976).
Key entities involved:
- App operator and data controller: Acena Education - FZCO
- Cloud infrastructure provider: Supabase (Postgres + AWS)
- Advertising partner: Google AdMob
- Payment processor: Apple App Store / Google Play Store

2. Age Requirement and Eligibility
2.1 Age
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher). By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
Parents and guardians: If a child under 13 uses the App, we require your explicit consent. Please contact admin@acena.cc if you have concerns about a minor's account.
2.2 Legal Capacity
You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements. If you are acting on behalf of a business or entity, you warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Account Registration and Responsibilities
3.1 Creating an Account
To use the App, you must create an account by:
- Signing in via Apple ID, Google Account, or email address
- Providing a valid email address
- Agreeing to this Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy
3.2 Account Information
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information
- Keeping your account credentials confidential
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
- All activities that occur under your account
3.3 Account Termination by Company
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms or our policies
- You engage in fraud, cheating, or multi-accounting
- You violate applicable laws
- Your account shows suspicious or malicious activity
- You request account deletion
Account termination will result in:
- Loss of access to the App and all account data
- Forfeiture of any virtual currency (crystals) or progress
- Removal from Leagues and Lounge competition
4. Lifetime Ad-Free Purchase
4.1 The Purchase
Componi offers a single optional one-time in-app purchase ("Lifetime Ad-Free" or the "Purchase") that permanently removes all advertisements from the App for the account on which it is purchased. Componi does not offer recurring subscriptions: there are no monthly or annual billing cycles, no free trials that convert to paid subscriptions, and no auto-renewal.
The standard price is USD $14.99, charged once at purchase. Prices may vary by region, currency, applicable taxes, and platform-specific tier mapping. The local price displayed by the App Store or Google Play at checkout is the price you will be charged.
4.2 What Lifetime Ad-Free Includes
- Permanent removal of in-app advertisements (banner, interstitial, rewarded video offers, native placements)
- Cross-device entitlement: the Purchase is tied to your store account (Apple ID or Google account) and can be restored on any device where you sign in
- No expiration — the entitlement remains active indefinitely
The Purchase does not include Crystals (virtual currency), cosmetics, Energy refills, or hint refills. Those continue to use the standard in-app systems described in Sections 5 and 6.
4.3 One-Time, Non-Recurring
The Lifetime Ad-Free Purchase is a one-time, non-recurring transaction. You will be charged once at the time of purchase. There are no recurring charges. There is no auto-renewal. There is no subscription to cancel.
4.4 Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Apple App Store (on iOS / iPadOS) or Google Play Store (on Android). Componi does not directly process, store, or have access to your payment card or bank information. Charges appear on your payment method as billed by Apple or Google (e.g., "APPLE.COM/BILL", "GOOGLE *Componi").
4.5 Restore Purchase
If you have already purchased Lifetime Ad-Free and reinstall the App, switch to a new device, or sign in on a different Componi account using the same store account, you can restore your entitlement at any time:
- Open Componi and sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used at purchase
- Navigate to Settings > Restore Purchase, or tap Restore Purchase on any in-app paywall
- Your Lifetime Ad-Free entitlement will be re-validated and re-applied
The restore flow is required by Apple App Store Review Guidelines §3.1.1 and is provided on every purchase entry point in Componi. There is no time limit on restoring a previously completed Purchase.
4.6 Refunds
All refund requests are handled by the platform that processed the original transaction:
- Apple App Store (iOS): Submit through reportaproblem.apple.com or Settings > Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Purchase History
- Google Play (Android): Open Google Play, tap your Profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions > Budget & history; find the Purchase and tap Refund or Report a problem
- Componi does not directly issue refunds, as funds are held by Apple or Google. For support contact admin@acena.cc with your transaction ID
4.7 Price Changes
We may change the standard price of Lifetime Ad-Free for new purchasers at any time. Price changes do not retroactively affect Purchases that have already been completed. If you have already purchased Lifetime Ad-Free, you will not be charged again, regardless of any future price change.
4.8 Purchase Validation (RevenueCat)
Componi uses RevenueCat, Inc. to validate the Lifetime Ad-Free Purchase across devices:
- When you complete the Purchase, Apple or Google issues a receipt
- The RevenueCat SDK forwards the receipt to RevenueCat's servers for validation
- RevenueCat confirms to Componi whether your Lifetime Ad-Free entitlement is active
- RevenueCat never sees your credit card, debit card, or bank information — payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google

5. In-App Purchases
5.1 Virtual Currency (Crystals)
The App features virtual currency called "Crystals" that can be purchased with real money. Crystals can be used to:
- Purchase hints or restore energy
- Participate in Lounge competitions
- Unlock cosmetic items (avatar symbols, background colors and gradients, rare flair)
5.2 Crystal Pricing
Crystals are sold in bundles at various price points. Pricing is displayed in-app before each purchase. Prices may vary by region and currency and are subject to change without notice.
5.3 Non-Refundable Purchases
All in-app purchases of Crystals are final and non-refundable. This includes:
- Crystal bundles purchased with real money
- Crystals earned through gameplay, which cannot be "returned" or reversed
Exceptions:
- Erroneous charges (duplicate charges, unintended purchases) may be reversed with proof and request to admin@acena.cc
- Unauthorized charges due to account compromise should be reported to your payment provider (Apple / Google)
5.4 No Real-World Value
Crystals:
- Are a virtual in-game currency with no real-world monetary value
- Cannot be exchanged for real money
- Cannot be transferred between accounts
- Belong solely to your account and are forfeited upon account deletion
- May be modified, adjusted, or revoked by the Company in accordance with our fraud and abuse policies
5.5 Purchase Limitations
We reserve the right to:
- Limit the number of Crystals you can purchase in any given period
- Suspend purchases if unusual activity is detected
- Reject any purchase that appears fraudulent or violates our policies
6. Virtual Systems (Energy, Hints, Streaks)
6.1 Energy System
The App features an energy system ("Energy") that limits gameplay:
- Users start with 5 units of Energy
- Each puzzle solved consumes 1 unit of Energy
- Energy restores at a rate of 1 unit every 2 hours (individual per-player restores)
- When you have less than 5 units, Energy automatically restores over time
- You may restore Energy immediately by:
- Watching a rewarded video advertisement (if available)
- Purchasing Crystals (with real money) to immediately refill Energy
6.2 Hints System
The App features a hints system:
- Users start with 3 hint tokens per session
- Each hint used consumes 1 token
- Hint tokens restore at a rate of 1 token every 4 hours
- You may restore hints immediately by:
- Watching a rewarded video advertisement
- Purchasing Crystals (with real money)
6.3 Weekly Streak
Daily puzzle engagement is tracked as a "Weekly Streak":
- Completing 1 puzzle per day maintains your streak
- The streak resets to 0 if you miss a day
- Streak rewards (Crystals) are given based on consecutive days:
- Day 1: 1 Crystal
- Day 2: 2 Crystals
- Day 3: 3 Crystals
- Day 4: 4 Crystals
- Day 5: 5 Crystals
- Day 6: 8 Crystals
- Day 7: 50 Crystals
- After Day 7, the streak resets to 0 and can begin again
6.4 Daily Bonus Tasks
Daily Bonus Tasks are optional gameplay objectives completed during the day. Completing all Daily Bonus Tasks grants a bonus of 40 Crystals per day.
6.5 Modifications to Virtual Systems
We reserve the right to modify Energy, Hints, Streaks, and other virtual systems at any time:
- Modifications may include changing restore rates, costs, or rewards
- We will provide in-app notice when significant changes occur
- Continued use of the App after notice constitutes acceptance of changes
- We are not obligated to offer compensation or refunds for system changes
7. League System
7.1 League Overview
The League system is a seasonal competitive ranking where players compete for Crystals rewards:
League Structure:
- Maximum 10 players per league
- Weekly seasons (each season lasts 7 calendar days)
- Ranking based on total puzzle completion in that week
- Automatic re-ranking at the end of each season
7.2 League Participation
- Joining a league is optional and automatic when you join or create a league
- You may be in only one league at a time
- Leaving a league removes you from current rankings and rewards
- Leagues expire at the end of each season, and all players can join a new league
7.3 League Rewards
At the end of each season, Crystal rewards are distributed based on final ranking:

Rewards are automatically deposited into your account at the end of the season.
7.4 League Conduct Rules
In Leagues, you must not:
- Use cheating tools or exploits to artificially inflate your score
- Create multiple accounts to manipulate league standings
- Collude with other players to artificially distribute rewards
- Engage in harassment or abusive behavior toward other league members
7.5 Enforcement
Violations of League conduct rules may result in:
- Removal from the current league
- Disqualification from season rewards
- Permanent league participation bans
- Account suspension or termination
- Forfeiture of virtual currency
8. Lounge (Asynchronous PVP)
8.1 Lounge Overview
The Lounge is an asynchronous player-versus-player (PVP) system where:
- Two players each solve the same puzzle independently
- Results are compared based on completion speed and accuracy
- The faster player wins both entry fees
- The Company does not take a "house cut"
8.2 Entry Fees
Each Lounge match requires both players to pay an entry fee (typically 10-50 Crystals per match, displayed before confirming participation). Both entry fees go to the winner. If a match is voided, entry fees are returned.
8.3 Match Mechanics
- Players are matched randomly (or by skill tier, if implemented)
- Each player independently solves the same puzzle
- Completion time determines the winner
- If both players complete perfectly, the faster player wins
- Results are recorded and displayed to both players
8.4 Winning and Losing
- Winner: Receives their own entry fee + loser's entry fee (2x entry fee)
- Loser: Loses their entry fee; receives no compensation
- Void Match: Both players' entry fees are returned if:
- A technical error occurs
- A player abandons the match before completion
- The puzzle data is corrupted or unavailable
8.5 Lounge Conduct Rules
In Lounge, you must not:
- Use cheating exploits, bots, or automation tools
- Create multiple accounts to manipulate matchmaking
- Disconnect deliberately to void matches and avoid losses
- Engage in harassment or abusive communication
8.6 Lounge Forfeit and Abandonment
If you abandon a Lounge match after accepting it:
- Your entry fee is returned to the opponent
- You may receive a warning or temporary Lounge suspension if repeated
- Excessive forfeitures may result in Lounge bans
9. User Conduct and Prohibited Behavior
9.1 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use cheating tools, bots, scripts, or hacks that artificially modify gameplay results
- Create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages or bypass restrictions
- Engage in account sharing or account trading
- Use exploits or bugs to gain unearned Crystals or rewards
- Collude with other players to manipulate League or Lounge results
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other players or Company staff
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the App's source code
- Use automated tools to scrape gameplay data or user information
- Engage in fraud, money laundering, or illegal activity
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
9.2 Monitoring and Detection
We monitor for violations using:
- Gameplay pattern analysis (anomalies in completion speed, accuracy, etc.)
- Device fingerprinting and multi-account detection
- Behavioral analysis and machine learning
- User reports and community flagging
- Regular security audits
9.3 Consequences for Violations
For violations, we may:
- Issue a warning and request immediate correction
- Temporarily suspend your account (24 hours to 30 days)
- Permanently ban your account
- Forfeit all virtual currency and progress
- Report to law enforcement if illegal activity is involved
Appeal Process: If your account is suspended or banned, you may appeal to admin@acena.cc within 14 days, providing evidence that the action was in error.
10. Intellectual Property Rights
10.1 Company Ownership
The App, including all content (puzzles, images, text, sound, code, trademarks, and designs), is owned by or licensed to the Company and is protected by copyright, trademark, and patent laws.
10.2 Your License
By downloading and using the App, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms.
10.3 Restrictions on Your Use
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
- Reverse-engineer, disassemble, or decompile the App
- Remove copyright or ownership notices
- Use the App to create competing products or services
- Rent, lease, or distribute the App
- Use the App in any manner that violates intellectual property laws
10.4 Trademarks
"Componi," "Componi" logo, and related marks are trademarks of Acena Education - FZCO. You may not use these trademarks without express written permission.
11. Disclaimers of Warranties
11.1 As-Is Provision
The App is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
11.2 No Warranty of Uninterrupted Service
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- All features will always be available
- The App will be compatible with all future device updates
- Gameplay data will never be lost
11.3 No Warranty of Accuracy
We do not warrant that:
- Puzzle content is accurate or free from educational errors
- League rankings are always perfectly accurate
- Lounge match results are always fair and unbiased
- Gameplay mechanics work perfectly under all conditions
11.4 User Assumes All Risk
By using the App, you assume all risk of:
- Loss of gameplay progress
- Data loss due to device failure or account deletion
- Inability to access features
- Third-party service interruptions (e.g., Apple, Google, Supabase outages)
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 Cap on Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company's total liability arising out of or in connection with this Agreement or the App is limited to the total amount you paid for in-app purchases in the past 12 months (or $25 USD, whichever is greater).
12.2 Excluded Damages
In no event shall the Company be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity
- Personal injury or physical harm
- Emotional distress or mental anguish
- Even if advised of the possibility of such damages
12.3 Exclusion Applies to
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, etc.) and whether or not such damages are foreseeable.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), specifically the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) where applicable, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
13.2 Jurisdiction and Venue
- For users in the United States: These Terms and any disputes shall be governed by UAE/DIFC law, but disputes may be resolved in U.S. federal or state courts at your discretion as the consumer
- For users outside the United States: Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction and venue of the courts in the DIFC, Dubai, UAE
13.3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes by contacting us:

Description: Include a clear description of the dispute, your account email, and your desired resolution. We will respond within 30 business days.
14.2 Arbitration Clause (US Users)
For users in the United States, you and the Company agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be settled by binding arbitration, with the following exceptions:
- Disputes that cannot be arbitrated under applicable law
- Claims for injunctive relief to prevent intellectual property infringement
- Small Claims Court claims (if you opt out per Section 14.3)
14.3 Opt-Out of Arbitration (US Users)
You may opt out of the arbitration clause by:
- Sending written notice to admin@acena.cc within 30 days of first accepting these Terms
- Including your full name, email address, and statement: "I opt out of the arbitration agreement"
- If you opt out, all other Terms remain in effect, but you may pursue claims in court
14.4 Arbitration Rules
If arbitration applies:
- The arbitration shall be administered by JAMS (Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services) under its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules and Procedures
- The arbitration shall be conducted in English
- The arbitrator's decision is binding and may be entered as judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction
- Each party pays their own attorney's fees unless the arbitrator awards fees to the prevailing party
- The arbitrator may award any relief that would be available in court
15. Modifications to the App and Terms
15.1 Changes to the App
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time:
- We will provide notice in-app for material changes
- We are not liable for any loss of features or functionality
- Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance of changes
15.2 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time by:
- Posting the updated Terms in the App with an updated "Last Updated" date
- Sending an email notification for material changes
- Requesting your explicit acceptance for significant modifications
Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with updates, your sole remedy is to stop using the App.
16. Termination
16.1 Termination by User
You may terminate your account by:
- Following the account deletion process described in the Account Deletion Policy
- Uninstalling the App (though your account data will remain unless you formally request deletion)
16.2 Termination by Company
We may terminate your account immediately if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraud, cheating, or illegal activity
- Your account is used for harassment or abuse
- We cease offering the App or your region's service
16.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access to the App is revoked
- Your account data is scheduled for deletion (see Account Deletion Policy)
- All virtual currency and progress are forfeited
- You forfeit any pending or pending rewards
17. Force Majeure
The Company is not liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these Terms if such failure is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:
- Acts of God (natural disasters, extreme weather)
- War, terrorism, civil unrest
- Pandemics or epidemics
- Strikes, lockouts, labor disputes
- Power outages or internet infrastructure failures
- Government actions or embargoes
- Third-party service failures (e.g., Apple, Google, Supabase outages lasting more than 24 hours)
In the event of force majeure, the Company will:
- Provide notice to affected users in-app or via email
- Suspend affected services temporarily
- Resume service as soon as practicable
- Not provide compensation or refunds for downtime
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and Account Deletion Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and negotiations (whether written or oral) regarding the App.
